A monitoring center does not “watch the cameras.” It receives signals from a panel: burglary, fire, hold-up, supervisory, and trouble. Those words mean different responses, and mixing them up is how you get a truck for a low battery.
Keep the language straight on site
- Burglary — an intrusion zone opened while the system is armed
- Fire — a life-safety signal that should never share a “call us tomorrow” workflow
- Trouble — power, comms, or device faults that need a technician, not a police response
If your staff cannot tell those apart on the keypad, the monitoring account will not save you. Training is part of install, and it is part of a takeover.
